1. Arnold Schwarzenegger
His Role in the Film: The titular Terminator, this time sent back by John to protect his younger self from being terminated by Skynet.
In the Years Since: Schwarzenegger reunited with T2 director James Cameron for True Lies in 1994 before following it up with turns in films like Junior, Jingle All the Way, Batman & Robin, End of Days, and all three Expendables films, and went on - as we all know - to become the governor of California between 2003 and 2011. As for his most iconic role, he returned to it for T2: 3-D, Terminator 3: Judgment Day, and last year's Terminator Genisys.
As of 2016: Aside from being the face of the mobile game Mobile Strike, the actor has a number of projects lined up, including the drama film 478 alongside Maggie Grace and the comedy Why We're Killing Gunther, written and directed by Saturday Night Live's Taran Killam. On top of that, he'll be reprising his roles as Julius in the long-gestating Twins sequel, Triplets, and Conan in the announced sequel The Legend of Conan, and has even insisted that a sixth Terminator film will eventually happen despite the critical trouncing of Genisys and seeming cancellation of a follow-up in its wake.
