Every single Terminator film has, at some point or another, attempted to introduce us to the most fearsome and diabolical cyborgs imaginable. 1984's The Terminator gave us Arnold Schwarzenegger's classic T-800 that was so chilling that fans would have never imagined that he'd become an action hero within the decade.

T2 would up the ante to such a degree with Robert Patrick's phenomenal turn as the poly-mimetic T-1000 that he ended up setting a bar so high that no successive machine could reach. Though T3's T-X came very close, nothing else has been remotely engaging... until now.

The Rev-9 had some cool tricks of his own that weren't really that derivative of previous Terminator Big Bads and Gabriel Luna managed to bring what could have been a rather dull character to life, instilling some personality into the machine in order to make him less lifeless than he seemed.

Sure, the villain may not have surpassed any of the first three, but he was an incredibly formidable foe that solidified Legion as a force to be reckoned with. So yes, after multiple failed attempts, Terminator: Dark Fate produced a worthy adversary. The question is: How on earth do they top that in a potential sequel? Are there more advanced Terminators than the Rev-9?
