Terminator: Dark Fate – 7 Big Things We Learned From The Trailer

6. Gabriel Luna’s Terminator Can Split Itself Into Two Entities

In every new Terminator film, there is some new "never before seen" threat that our protagonists must retreat from (multiple times) and eventually overcome to protect the future from Judgment Day. Of course, Dark Fate is no different.

The trailer gave us a good look at that new Terminator and, well, it's safe to say that he lives up to the "never before seen" aspect.

Portrayed by Gabriel Luna, the debuting threat is known as the Rev 9 and can apparently split itself into two separate entities - which it showcases in the trailer when its own liquid metal skin discharges itself from its endoskeleton and forms into the human facade that it wears, allowing it to continue to drive the truck and chase down its target at the same time.

Though previous sequels have indeed dabbled in the liquid metal and endoskeleton assembly line before (Terminator 3 tried something similar with the T-X), this is the first time that a Terminator can literally replicate itself to independently do two things at once.

Gives a whole new meaning to divide and conquer, doesn't it?
