22. Skynet

The persistent antagonist throughout the Terminator franchise has been Skynet, the rogue A.I. which ends up becoming self-aware and kick-starting a nuclear apocalypse in order to wipe out its human enemies and dominate the world.

But one of Dark Fate's big surprises is that Skynet doesn't exist in this timeline anymore: the end of T2 was apparently successful at wiping out the A.I. forever more, but of course, it's simply been replaced by a Skynet-like entity with the rather generic moniker of Legion.

Given that Skynet is a much cooler and more iconic name than Legion, the re-name was probably a mistake, to be honest.
