Terminator: Dark Fate - Every Easter Egg & Reference We Spotted

21. T2's Canal Chase

Several of Dark Fate's action sequences are "inspired" - if we're being kind - by T2, the first of which is the opening vehicular chase as Rev-9 drives a gigantic industrial plough while pursuing Grace and Dani in their flatbed truck.

It's clearly a remix of T2's stunning canal chase, where John Connor books it on a diminutive dirt bike while the T-1000 pursues in a gigantic lorry.

The visual language of both scenes is incredibly similar, even down to Rev-9 smacking out his damaged windshield just as the T-1000 does when his gets banged up.

The scenes have their obvious differences, and in Dark Fate it's ultimately Sarah who saves the day rather then the T-800, but even so, the inspiration is obvious.
