Though the fourth Terminator film, Terminator Salvation, has been sensibly erased from the timeline in Dark Fate, the film does nevertheless reprise one of its more interesting concepts - transhumanism.

Salvation's protagonist Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) discovers half-way through the movie that he's actually a human-cyborg hybrid, having been experimented upon after being executed on death row.

This clearly serves as the inspiration for Dark Fate's Grace, a human resistance fighter who is augmented with life-saving cybernetic enhancements after being mortally wounded in a skirmish against the machines.

The two characters are different enough that Grace doesn't feel like a pure imitation, but Salvation was the first film to play with this idea before Dark Fate picked it up and ran with it.
