18. The T-1000

The T-1000 is the Terminator' series greatest antagonist, to the extent that he's cast a long shadow over every subsequent sequel, with none of their villains able to hold a candle to him.

And while that's certainly also true of Dark Fate's Rev-9, the latest killer cyborg is designed with an homage to the T-1000 in mind.

Though Rev-9 can split itself into two forms - one a humanoid shape-shifter, the other a black endoskeleton - it's also able to transform into a puddle of black liquid metal, similar to the T-1000.

To confirm the homage, we also briefly see Rev-9 clinging to the back of a speeding car during a chase scene, in a manner that's clearly recalling the memorable hospital escape from T2, where the T-1000 uses its bladed arms to cling to the back of the heroes' stolen police car.

But Rev-9 the T-1000 ain't, sadly.
