Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer 2 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs

4. Improved CGI

One of the biggest criticisms of the previous trailer centred on some surprisingly awful CGI - which became particularly clear when new Terminator, Rev-9, attempted a mid-highway jump and looked like he had been rendered for a video game.

The new trailer, however, boasts superior visuals effects in just about every way possible, and ironically, it's Rev-9 (or at least a version of him) who is responsible for the most impressive shot in the entire clip (that scene in which the villain's liquid metal body separates from its metal endoskeleton before darting off in a four-legged gallop is nothing short of stunning).

Perhaps the dodgy CGI was just an unfinished shot or maybe that was a particularly poor scene, but whatever the reason, it seems like it may have been an isolated incident, because the effects here are far more convincing.
