Terminator Genisys: 10 Iconic Moments It Must Revisit
8. Back From The Future
A Terminator movie without time travel is, er, not a very good idea - seeTerminator Salvation. Its the basis for the entire franchise, the cause of thousands of Internet arguments about paradoxes and closed loops, and might yet be the thing that rescues Genisys from the scrap pile. In Alan Taylors take on things, the moment when Reese is transported back through time in his birthday suit will be shown, and there are also hints that this isnt the only time jump that will take place. The time travel sequence itself looks like a large-scale, ambitious example of an expensive film flexing its budgetary biceps, but what happens on the other side of these time tunnels has been shown on more than one occasion. When Arnies original T-800 and Kyle Reese were sent back to 1984, their arrivals were both marked by miniature storms of crackling electricity and dancing blue currents that lit up the night. Cameron adopted a similar approach in T2 but augmented the visual impact by including an orb from which the terminators are seen to emerge, presumably because he now had the budget and CGI at his disposal to realise his vision, and Terminator 3 followed suit. Somewhat inevitably, these iconic images are revisited in Terminator Genisys, although the trailer also reveals that 1984 ain't what it used to be, but not before
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
