2. Man of Steel

Riding the tidal wave of success that was Christopher Nolans envisioning of a certain caped crusader with his Dark Knight Trilogy, Zack Snyders stab at giving us a Superman film was something to be proud of. For whatever reason the film received a mixed critical reception but audiences clearly loved it. As an origin story it hits those same crucial heights and notes that Batman Begins did, showing us Clark from birth to his outcast teenage years to dealing with freakish powers to ultimately fighting Zod in what I firmly believe is the single greatest super fight in cinema history. The fights conclusion was also controversially shocking too, capping off an awesome film. Future films were seemingly in good hands, but I'm not too keen on inserting Batman into the mix, considering there's so much more Snyder can do focusing on just his Man of Steel universe right now. However, Man of Steel however will always be remembered as an explosive blockbuster epic that proved good Superman films can exist again.
