A great cast is one thing - great casting is another thing entirely. A cast of Daniel Day-Lewis, Gary Oldman and Helen Mirren would look great on paper as a cast, but if they were playing Blue Marvel, Pip the Troll and Moondragon you'd have to question their casting. There are no such worries here. We already know that Andrew Garfield offers up a decent Peter Parker, that Sally Field and Martin Sheen play his Aunt and Uncle to a T and that Emma Stone is a convincing love interest as Gwen Stacy, so to top that off with the new castings that are in place for this movie is great news. We have Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn - and it doesn't seem as if Marvel/Sony/whoever else has put a foot wrong with that little lot. Chris Cooper as the next Norman Osborn (after Willem Dafoe portrayed the billionaire antagonist in the Sam Raimi trilogy) is inspired, while Dane DeHaan gives us a very different - and probably more convincing - Harry Osborn to James Franco. And you can't really go wrong with Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as Electro and Rhino, surely? Superb cast and, more importantly, exquisite casting. This movie could be outstanding. So there you have it - eight reasons why The Amazing Spider-Man 2 could turn out to be the best comic book movie of all time. Do you agree? What are your thoughts on the matter?
