5. Give The Osborn's Some Relevance In The Film
With the villain roles being taken by Electro and Rhino for this flick, it is unlikely we are going to see Spider Man's arch nemesis The Green Goblin make an appearance. However we are going to meet Norman Osborn (played by Oscar Winning actor Chris Cooper) and Harry Osborn (played by Chronicle actor Dane Dehaan). These two characters will need to have more than just a 'there to fill the spaces' type role in the movie. Norman Osborn is known for being Peter's ally before going green. Perhaps they should make him like a father figure towards him since his uncle is dead, this would definitely make it more traumatic for Peter when Norman eventually becomes The Green Goblin. Now with Harry, he is being described as 'an old friend of Peter's'. Now that simply does not make sense to me, Harry is not mentioned or referenced in The Amazing Spider Man, even when Peter sees Norman Osborn's silhouette at Oscorp, he doesn't stop and think 'Oh that reminds me of Harry'. It would have been much better to introduce him as a fresh new character Peter meets and befriends. Now Dane Dehaan I think is perfect for the role of Harry Osborn. If you have seen him in Chronicle you will know why, he is an extraordinary actor and will definitely be good in the role. And also, Norman Osborn is dying in this film, so Dane will have to show that in Harry's character. He can't be some party animal like he is the Ultimate comics (which is what I believe this franchise is based off), show him going through a really tough time, he already lost his mother at a young age, and could potentially lose his dad.
