4. Spider-Man Could Die

Seriously. The most recent rumours surrounding The Amazing Spider-Man 3 seem to be hinged around the idea that the movie will mark the end of Andrew Garfield's incarnation of Spider-Man, paving the way for a new actor to take on the role. In the comics, Peter Parker eventually hands over the guise of our favourite web-slinger to one Miles Morales - and given that Garfield has hinted that the third installment could be his last, death makes sense. Killing off Spider-Man would be a huge deal, of course, and - from a marketing perspective - could do wonders for Sony's box office gross. Who wouldn't want to go and see the superhero movie that dared to do what no other superhero movie dared to do? Killing off its main hero! It would certainly prove a major blockbuster event, and would undoubtably inject new life into the series. As it stands, everything we know points to this as a possibility.
