The Amazing Spider-Man 3: What Really Happened?

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a redemption story for Garfield's Peter Parker.

As we mentioned in our introduction, this movie has reminded us how great he is in the role, and that it was studio politics and messy storytelling that dragged the Amazing Spider-Man series down, not his performances.

The actor would've easily been at the bottom of "favourite Spider-Man" polls a couple of months ago, but now, he's closed that gap significantly - to the extent that a #ReleaseTheSnyderCut-esque movement has dominated social media in recent weeks, with fans lobbying for Garfield to finally get The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

The actor has stated that he's open to whipping out the suit once again, but the more important question is... could this actually happen?

Well, sure it could. Why not?

Sony would have very little to lose. Not only would The Amazing Spider-Man 3 be a guaranteed box-office hit, but it would also allow the studio to have two cinematic Spider-Men on the go at once: Tom Holland as the Disney/MCU Spider-Man, and Garfield as the main hero of the Venom-verse. It's a win/win scenario.

And hey, in an era where we have multiple big-screen Bat-men, two different Jokers (possibly even three), Charlie Cox back as Daredevil, Jamie Foxx back as Electro, and an actual, completed Snyder Cut, literally anything is possible.

So go on Sony. #MakeTASM3. And this time, please do Garfield justice.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
