4. A Female Version Of The Titular Hero Appears

Along with Venom, a female lead is set to headline one of the two films in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise between now and The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Rumours have been doing the rounds about said female being a somehow resurrected Gwen Stacy, with Emma Stone taking on the role of Stacy in a new form of some description, but that seems highly unlikely. More plausibly, that female lead could be a female version of Spider-Man (Spider-Woman, in other words) and, if that is indeed the case, expect the character to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 alongside her more well-known male counterpart. Who knows which version of Spider-Woman it would be (it would be one from Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter and Mattie Franklin), but her appearance could well give the film something of an Avengers feel, with Spider-Man, Black Cat, Venom and Spider-Woman all coming together to fend off the Sinister Six. That would be cool.
