The Batman: 10 Actors Who Should Replace Ben Affleck

1. Sebastian Stan

Yeah, he’s best known as being Bucky Barnes in the MCU, but Sebastian Stan’s talent has kind of been wasted so far by Marvel. The actor himself hasn’t had all that much to do, mostly just assigned to look confused and tormented as the mind-controlled assassin.

Which is a shame, because in the moments where he has been allowed to let loose, particularly in Civil War and the final act of The Winter Solider, Stan has been able to convey so much inner turmoil by saying so little. There’s an intensity - not to mention fractured duality - that he brings to Barnes that would be perfect for both Batman and Bruce Wayne’s darker moments, while Stan’s inherent likability and charm sets him up for Bruce Wayne's public cover.

He hasn’t had many leading roles so far, but his transformation in I, Tonya in particular proves just how versatile the actor is. The physicality is obviously there to play someone with the presence of Bruce Wayne, but he also boasts the depth and versatility to bring to life the disparate, often conflicting parts of Batman’s personality.
