The Batman: 10 Actors Who Should Replace Ben Affleck

8. Timothée Chalamet

Timothee Chalamet is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood today, and I’ll be the first to admit that, at a glance, nothing about him screams “he should be the next Batman!”. But, if WB are indeed attempting to break the mould a little bit, casting a younger actor in the role and focusing more on the character’s intellect and development into a superhero, then Chalamet has the ideal amount of outward confidence and charm, yet ability to channel demons bubbling under that exterior, to bring that version to life.

His role in Beautiful Boy, as a troubled drug addict living under the veneer of a perfect life, is proof he can expertly walk the fine line between dual identities. The way he plays both halves of a personality in that film, one a junkie completely absorbed in his own vices, and another an outwardly happy, smart young man with his whole life ahead of him, acts as the narrative backbone of the whole thing. He’s great at showcasing the moment when the mask slips, where his true personality shines through the false image of himself he’s constructed.

Also, don’t tell me he wouldn’t be fantastic as a cocky young billionaire. Just look at him, there’s already such a precocious air around Timothy Chalamet the actor that’s perfect for a younger Wayne dealing with his parent’s death and coming into his fortune.

And yeah, he might not have the Batman jaw, but if he got the role, all we'd be talking about from there on would be Batman’s cheekbones.
