The Batman: 10 Actors Who Should Replace Ben Affleck

3. Steven Yeun

The Walking Dead Season 6 Glenn Rhee Steven Yeun
AMC

While he was always stellar on The Walking Dead, Steven Yeun has really proven himself as one of the best rising stars in Hollywood since he left AMC’s hit show. Enjoying success as supporting characters in critically-acclaimed flicks like Sorry to Bother You, Okja, and Burning, Yeun has been given the opportunity to explore larger-than-life characters and break free from the charming (but distinctly ordinary) Glenn Rhee.

There’ll no doubt be some who’d argue he’d be a better fit as a Robin or a Nightwing (which is fair), but it would be a waste to not see him as a younger Bruce Wayne. Mayhem showed that he can play an a-hole with ease, while retaining a sense of charm that makes him such a compelling actor to follow. It’s a trait that would allow him to perfectly embody the near-smarmy, public face of Bruce Wayne.

Also, if you’re not convinced about him being an action star, then that film (and even a few episodes of The Walking Dead) should be more than enough to sway you. He doesn’t look all that intimidating, but Yeun’s capable of unleashing a bottled rage in major set-pieces, all the while maintaining a human vulnerability and fragility that sets Batman apart from other heroes.
