The Batman: 10 DC Comics Villains Perfect For Matt Reeves' Sequel

5. Roman Sionis (Black Mask)

The Batman Court of Owls

Robert Pattinson's Batman will already be exploring some of the criminal underworld through The Penguin and Carmine Falcone, but there is room to go even deeper with Roman Sionis.

Sionis is a failed business executive and a major mafia boss. He has a strong hatred for Bruce Wayne and his feelings for Bats aren't much better. It would be interesting for Roman to enter the story right around the time Bruce buys out Sionis' company. This would begin the creation of Roman's Black Mask persona.

Black Mask could attack both Batman and Bruce Wayne simultaneously. His corrupt business tactics could be used to undermine Wayne Enterprises and his physical resources, including henchmen, could be spent trying to track down and kill the Caped Crusader.

Since Wayne and Sionis were childhood friends there is also potential for a deeply emotional element to the story. It would be fascinating to navigate the duality of Bruce attempting to reconcile with Roman while still having to go toe to toe against him as Batman.
