The Batman: 10 Latest Developments You Need To Know
5. Secrecy Surrounds Deathstroke's Involvement
Ben Affleck isn't the only actor whose involvement in The Batman is uncertain. When the film was first announced, Joe Manganiello was attached to play the master assassin Deathstroke.
The fans rejoiced, delighted at the prospect of seeing an esteemed comic book villain make his big screen debut, but since Matt Reeves reached for the reboot button, Slade Wilson's inclusion is no longer a given - far from it.
Manganiello has admitted uncertainty when quizzed on his Deathstroke future, and more recently he's been coy. It seems the True Blood star knows exactly what's going on but has been sworn to secrecy.
He told The Hollywood Reporter...
“I don’t [have any information]. Well, I do but nothing that I can share. I know everything but I can’t say any of it.”
At one point, the stage was set for Deathstroke to establish himself as a major player in the DC Extended Universe, with leaked storyboards suggesting he also has a role in Justice League as an associate of Lex Luthor.
But now, with The Batman no longer a part of the DCEU and Luthor rumoured to have been nixed from Justice League, the villain's cinematic debut could be off the table.
