The Batman: 14 Huge Reveals From The Batsuit & Batmobile Images

If the Batmobile WAS a Dodge - or a very similar designed car from the same sort of time - then it probably came with a hood vent already. BUT, the engine of the vehicle has clearly been moved to the back (and given a rather impressive upgrade), so having an even more extensive vent is rather redundant.

There's some suggestion that it could be an airflow solution for speed, but again, that doesn't QUITE fit. The real answer might come as you look at the images a little closer.

The bottom of the image above seems to suggest that the hood actually has a hatch on it that opens on a hinged mechanism from the bottom, below where the bends are. The rest of the hatch acts as a cover for a sunken compartment where the engine used to sit, which has clearly been repurposed, but as what?

Could this be a weapons hold? Could the hatch double as a gadgets rack? Or could there be some heavy artillery hidden underneath the hatch that Batman could call on James Bond-style while driving?
