6. It Could Be Set In The 1980s

It could even be set in the 1970s, actually too.

The key here is that it looks like the chassis that the Batmobile has been developed from is a 1970s Dodge specifically. The shape of the hood and the vent on the front look perfect for that era and while the windshield is bigger than you'd expect, you'd also reasonably expect a superhero to open his field of vision as much as possible.

The car being vintage is a key point too because it speaks to when Matt Reeves has set his movie. There's a theory that it could be set in the late 70s or early to mid 80s because the car obviously predates that point and there are other indicators too.

One set of set photos showed a Gotham Coroner van which is a Dodge Ram van (the same model the Wet Bandits use in Home Alone) from between 1979 and 1986 probably. That's a very specific time period to choose. So could that be an indicator too?

There is one alternative though - Reeves may be shooting for a timeless setting, which would explain the fact that some vehicles are clearly later 1970s/80s and yet the TV van has HD written on the side. Very intriguing.
