The Batman: 15 Details You Missed The First Time

5. The Godfather

The Batman is more invested in the machinations of the Gotham mob than any other film featuring the Dark Knight, so it's fitting that it contains a very sneaky reference to the mob movie to end all mob movies, The Godfather.

When Bruce pays a visit to Carmine Falcone at his penthouse, listen closely and you'll hear a distinctive sounding song.

This is Johnny Farrow's 1945 hit tune "I Have but One Heart," which was famously sung by Johnny Fontane (Al Martino) during The Godfather's opening Corleone wedding sequence.

Clearly the intent was to offer up a sneaky aural touchstone for die-hard Godfather fans to notice, while also drawing a line between Don Corleone and Carmine Falcone as overseers of their respective criminal underworlds.
