The Batman: 6 Actors Who Could Play “Year One” Bruce Wayne

1. Ryan Gosling

With the actor coming off an Oscar-nom for La La Land and almost certain to pick up another one for First Man, Ryan Gosling will no doubt have his pick of projects, and he’s already shown an interest in comic book roles before.

He’s not an obvious Batman, which again isn’t a bad thing, but look at his roles in Drive and (more divisively) Only God Forgives for a strange, brooding, silent presence with an inherent darkness and violent streak. He’s not as big as Batman has been previously, but that can allow for someone who uses the fear they invoke and their detective skills too.

His Bruce Wayne would be even better, and reason enough alone to cast Gosling. Undeniably charismatic and cool, but with an otherworldliness to it, there’d be something incredibly attractive about him taking on such a dual role.
