The Batman: 8 Reasons You Should Be Concerned Affleck Quit

7. It Should Be Remarkably Easy To Make

Don't let anyone tell you that it's difficult to make a billion dollar, hugely financed movie about Batman for Warner Bros while also starring in it and writing it. Sure, it's a lot of work, but the writing isn't concurrent to the directing (or at least you'd bloody hope not), and Affleck ALWAYS directs himself in lead roles. Why should a Batman film be any different?

The truth of the situation is that a stand-alone Batman movie should be the easiest thing on any Hollywood slate to make. There is a wealth of original source material to work from, there's an established lore and expectations from fans that should frame the narrative and there's also still significant room for a new approach (one looking at his detective side, or exploring the idea of fear symbolism more, or extending the Bat-family).

In other words, The Batman should not be hard to make. The only reason it would be is if whatever Affleck is pitching doesn't fit with Warner Bros' overarching vision, which might ominously suggest that they're still committed to the same approach that has birthed Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. Why else would the script not be approved yet?
