7. The Joker - Joaquin Phoenix

If the rumours of The Joker Origin movie being set in the same universe as The Batman are true, we might not have any choice but to accept Phoenix as the new Joker for Matt Reeves. And that's a truly great thing, because his casting is the smartest thing Todd Phillips' project has pulled off so far.

As good as the idea of seeing him becoming the Joker is (as long as it doesn't declaw the character too much), actually SEEING Phoenix in full theatrical flow as Mr J opposite Batman is even more enticing. We deserve to see this heavyweight - whose past roles have suggested a perfect sort of quirkiness for this role - opposite the hero that defines him.

And who doesn't want to see the Clown Prince of Crime meeting Batman for the first time again? It's one of those moments that deserves to exist in perpetuity.
