The Batman: Dream Casting Matt Reeves' New Trilogy

5. The Riddler - Donald Glover

At the minute, it doesn't feel like there's anyone as heralded for his genius as Donald Glover thanks to his ability to command both the worlds of acting and music. And it helps that he's one of the most charismatic stars currently working, as his show-stealing turn as Lando Calrissian proved in the otherwise dull Solo.

Glover also feels like he'd be perfectly suited to a role that would test his theatrical limits a little more, as well as playing on his obvious intellect. If he could combine that with the dorky quirks of his The Martian performance, we could be in for a truly great Riddler performance that would hopefully be different enough from Jim Carrey's unfairly maligned performance.

He's exactly the sort of talent Warner Bros ought to be seeking for this franchise, and the chance to have fun with a villain role would hopefully appeal to him as something he could get his teeth into.
