The Rumour

According to Revenge of The Fans, Matt Reeves is actually looking for a younger Batman than initially suspected:

"I’ve heard we’re actually looking at a Bruce who’s 15 to 20 years younger, and is meant to be 25 to 30 years old in the story Reeves wants to tell."

That's because his script is based on Frank Miller's Year One.

Response

As exciting as that source would be, the idea of another origin movie is not what we need. It would be far, far better for Reeves to focus on an already established Batman. But then, that wouldn't necessarily preclude using Year One's story as a basis.

You know, as long as we don't just get another The Dark Knight.

It all fits with the idea of Reeves' Batman being the antithesis of what Ben Affleck's Batman is/was in the DCEU if he were to be in his earliest days too, so there's definitely cause to believe it. Let's just hope Reeves brings enough of himself to make ensure it's not just a retread.
