The Batman: Ranking The Action Scenes From Worst To Best
1. Escaping The Police Station
Batman has just experienced a direct hit from an explosion. So when he is unconscious, he gets dragged deep in the police station with hundreds of cops, with no realistic way to get out. Batman keeps getting defensive every time a cop goes near him, so James Gordon asks permission from his superior if they can talk alone.
We see the Batman and Jim Gordon partnership on display here. Them talking alone is just a cover so they have the opportunity to talk about the cops that are corrupt and devise a plan for Batman to escape the station. The funniest joke in the movie is when Gordon suggests to Batman that he should punch him so Batman can run to the halls as fast as possible.
What's cool about this scenes is that when Batman runs away, there is nothing cool about it - he just looks desperate. Instead of making Batman look weak, it just makes Batman feel human, not a one-man army 24/7.
In a movie trying to be realistic, it is a very good detail to see Batman hyperventilate as he is on the edge of a building with nowhere left to go. You get the cool reveal that his armor can turn into a flight suit but still see the very human reaction of hesitation. When he's finally forced to glide as the police come near, it is both a cool iconic Batman image and satisfaction of a successful escape.
