The Batman Trailer Breakdown: 20 Things You Must See

4. Batman Gets Ambushed?

This is one of the most stunning shots in the trailer, with Batman lighting up a flare and leading a large group of people towards... something.

This looks like an underground sewer area of some kind - if it was outdoors in Gotham, you'd expect the place to be a bit brighter before Batman strikes that flare.

Wait a minute... sewers... Killer Croc confirmed?! Just kidding. Although, if that turns out to be true, we're actually dead serious.

All that aside, the most interesting thing about this scene isn't the location, but the story context. Batman famously prefers to work alone - often to a fault - and even when he does seek help, it's usually just one or two people. So what's with this team?

Maybe he beats that clown gang so hard they decide to join him rather than fight him, or we could just be looking at a large group of police officers here.

Or - and this is unlikely, but stay with us here - what if these people have somehow sneaked up on Batman in the dark? It's pitch-black before he lights that flare, so maybe this is an ambush by some League Of Shadows ninjas, or another group who'd be skilled enough to creep up on the Bat.
