The Batman Trailer Breakdown: 20 Things You Must See

3. An Explosive Memorial

This is a scene we saw quite a bit of in the 2020 teaser - so much so that we can almost piece it together beat-for-beat.

Bruce is attending what looks like a memorial service (presumably for that man in the painting on the left, which is reportedly Rupert Penry-Jones as mayor Don Mitchell). Midway through, that graffitied car smashes through the scene, and a man steps out, wired with explosives.

Somehow, Bruce then has time to change into his Batman outfit and watch this man explode. Seems a bit speedy, even by Batman standards!

Regardless of how the scene plays out, it looks like Riddler's plan involves targeting high-ranking officials (the mayor, the police commissioner, the district attorney), which would definitely be an effective way to force Batman's involvement.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
