The Best Part Of The 10 Worst MCU Movies

2. Frigga's Funeral - Thor: The Dark World

There will always be debate over which is the worst movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe history, but Thor: The Dark World seems destined to be in the conversation until the very end. This was a very tough watch indeed.

Thor was almost boring, particularly by comparison to what Chris Hemsworth has shown since, the villain was the worst the franchise has ever put out, and clearly the entire team took the ‘dark’ in Dark World a little too literally. Even the usual phenomenal performance of Tom Hiddleston as Loki couldn’t save the movie.

As incredible as Loki was in The Dark World, coming off the back of his defeat to the Avengers and harbouring more bitterness and resentment than ever before, there was one moment that shone even brighter than he. This was the funeral of his adoptive mother, Frigga.

The Asgardian Queen was killed by Malekith, and was given a spectacle of a Norse/Asgardian goodbye. Her body floated down the river and was set ablaze, before sprinkling dust into the skies as Odin did three years later in Ragnarok. Accompanied by a haunting choir, it was impossible not to get choked up at such a beautiful scene.
