The Best Part Of The 10 Worst MCU Movies

1. Gorr The God Butcher - Thor: Love & Thunder

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of surprises, whether it's a new or returning character, a death, or any other kind of twist in the tale. Though most are good surprises, the franchise still has its share of bad ones, the epitome of which being Thor: Love and Thunder.

After Taika Waititi turned the Thor franchise from boring to one of the most popular with a single movie, his second effort in the MCU was one of the most anticipated ever. Thor: Love and Thunder however, seemed to forget everything that made Ragnarok charming, and was ultimately an incredibly joyless waste of two hours.

There genuinely wasn’t a laugh-out-loud moment in the entire thing, but there was one shining light throughout. Ironically, this was the darkest part of the movie both aesthetically and figuratively. Gorr the God Butcher proved to be a great villain, as you would have expected.

He could have done with more screen time, his story being fleshed out even more, and to be in a movie that wasn’t otherwise juvenile silliness, but Christian Bale and Waititi knocked Gorr out of the park. He was a villain with a compelling motive, whose ending was incredibly poignant and emotional, and was deserving of a far better movie around him.
