The Cloverfield Paradox: 20 WTF Moments

12. 3D-Printing A Gun, Because Why Not?

With Volkov fully afflicted by the gyroscope residing in his body - though this hasn't been revealed yet - he does what anyone would: he 3D-prints a freaking gun, suspecting Schmidt (Daniel Bruhl) to be a German saboteur.

Quite why a group of scientists would be permitted to acquire the schematics to a gun in space, and have access to ammunition no less, is pretty baffling, and clearly a "because plot" moment you're not supposed to think too much about.

Granted, you can already 3D-print a gun in reality - though not a bagel, sadly - but what benefit would it really give a space station full of scientists to be able to do this? Bizarre, to say the least.
