The Cloverfield Paradox: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

The Cloverfield Paradox
Netflix

As Earth faces an energy crisis, a team of scientists are sent into space to test a radical solution - using a Shepard particle accelerator to ignite a new super energy source that could solve the crisis in one fell swoop - but a malfunction leads to the station travelling to an alternate dimension where other alternate dimensions bleed into it, causing all sorts of issues (all of which have a distinctly Event Horizon vibe to them).

The crew learn of their mistake as the alternate dimensions bleeding together conspire to kill them all off, like some sort of intangible slasher movie monster and seek to resolve it by using the Shephard to return to their own dimension, because apparently simply doing the same thing again is the correct way to undo the first mistake.

With all of the crew killed - either through accidents, heroic sacrifices or straight murder - Hamilton (who is conflicted by the idea of staying in the alternate universe where her children weren't killed) and Schmidt manage to return home and use the Shephard correctly to gain Earth it's power supply.

Unfortunately, as they return home, it turns out that there are gigantic monsters (the same as from Cloverfield, only bigger) rampaging across the Earth and Hamilton's husband can't warn her quick enough not to return to the surface. Fade to black.
