3. Bruce's Need Of Batman
The very first thing Bruce did once he found out someone has stolen his mother's necklace as well as his fingerprints is to suit up and investigate the movies behind the burglary, when he could've just reported that to the hundreds of police officers outside his house. Not only that, but after he has enough evidence to help the Gotham Police Department arrest Bane or at least Catwoman he decides to take matters into his own hands. Considering the motives behind his retirement and that he was in no condition of going in the middle of the night and fighting crime, it's fair to say that it wasn't a very smart move coming from him, especially if we take into account that in matters like that he always goes to the police. While some blame this on poor writing I believe that this was (in a way) supposed to represent that despite what he might think, Bruce Wayne will always have some sort of dependance towards Batman. While this plot point was developed in a good manner in the movie, I don't think it explored enough the implications that came with it. Does he want to be Batman once more because he suspects that something else is going on? Or does he have a self-destructive personality, only wishing to find a way to die in the battlefield? Something as important as that should've been addressed in the movie.
