2. What Truly Meant "It Could've Been Everyone"
Throughout the movie we see the new Batman training John Blake. His story is quite similar to Bruce's and as the movie goes by we see how he slowly realizes the limits that the current system imposes and how he finds out that if he wants to make a difference he must become the symbol of hope that Gotham needs. While this one is a good example of Bruce's idea that Batman's identity didn't matter , in the end it just feels like it was really forced, like it was only an excuse to have to have Robin in some form or shape in the movie. Considering what happens in the middle of the movie this could've created some interesting development among the citizens of Gotham. This kind of idea could've also been explored in The Dark Knight, during the Joker's hunti for Batman. In fact this idea could've been quite useful at the time, since it probably would've prevented Two Face from being created. However, The Dark Knight already had a long and complex story, so it would've felt like an unnecessary extra.
