The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Things You Might Have Missed

5. Nightwing?

As it turns out, Officer John Blake was more than just an ordinary cop. An orphan whose legal name was Robin was chosen by Bruce Wayne to succeed him in defending Gotham from injustice. Despite the name, there is one piece of (possibly coincidental) evidence that points to Blake's crime fighting alter-ego becoming someone different. In the Batman comics, Dick Grayson, who is the original Robin, eventually grows out of his sidekick role and ventures out on his own as the crime-fighter known as Nightwing. This hero's costume is primarily black, featuring a long diagonal blue stripe on the back. A startlingly similar stripe is seen on the back of John Blake's jacket as he enters the Batcave during the end of the film. No images of it are on the web yet, so you'll have to go see the film again to check it for yourself. Is the conclusion still open to interpretation? Sure. But at least we know he won't be running around Gotham looking like Batman and Robin's Chris O'Donnell.
