The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Major Problems With The Plot

5. Oh Littlefinger, Why Aren't You As Smart As In The Books?

It's always good to see an alumni from The Wire or Game of Thrones, and with Irish actor Aiden Gillen, you get two for the price of one. But boy, what a stupid character he played in this film. At the beginning of the film we are introduced to Bane via a rather excellent Inception-like set piece involving Bane's mercenaries assaulting the plane of Gillen's CIA agent. Bane boards the plane himself by masquerading as a grunt with a sack of his head. I could probably gripe about how it would be obvious that the plane simply didn't crash, since its wings were torn off long before it hit the ground, or that Bane's plan would have failed if one of the many armed men on the plane had simply shot him. However one can't help but wonder at why the CIA just didn't look at their faces before putting them on the plane. Seriously, all they had to do was remove the sack from Bane's head and the whole master plan would've been ruined. Way to go, Littlefinger.
