The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons Why It's Better Second Time Around

5. Catwoman Scenes Were Still Badass

As obvious as this sounds, I went from thinking Catwoman was badass to understanding it. The first time I watched the film, every scene she was in was dynamite. True she wasn't necessarily important to the story, but her appearances gave me time to breathe in between all the grit and grime. I loved seeing a strong - and sane - female anti-hero who was the voice of reason amidst the chaos. After watching it the second time, the brilliance of some of her scenes became apparent. The tiny moments of Selina Kyle putting on the necklace while looking in the mirror, staring out the window upon Bane's seize of Gotham, and walking through the crowd in the beginning were moments when I realized seeing Selina out of mask were probably the ones that made her as popular as she is now.
