The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons Why It's Better Second Time Around

4. Understood Bane's Voice Better

This was a common criticism among reviewers of The Dark Knight Rises and a legitimate one on that. No matter how awesome Bane was, his dialogue was sometimes incomprehensible. I remember not understanding Bane's very first line about "wondering why you would shoot a man". As the movie went on, my ears adjusted to his muffled voice, but there were still parts of his speeches and one-liners that I wish I got. And watching the film a second time got me just that. I knew what was coming up and I knew I would have to adjust before Bane started talking. I understood the story, what he wanted to do, and his vision for despair. Simply knowing these facts made Bane's voice 99% clear - yes there were still words I didn't understand, but I made an educated guessed. It was also apparent that the creators of the film made sure the important parts of Bane's dialogue were comprehensible. The lines I didn't understand before? Yeah, they actually weren't that important. Go figure.
