The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons Why It's Better Second Time Around

1. Talia Made Sense

My biggest gripe and many people's biggest gripe was the revealing of Talia and the throwing away of Bane due to that. In addition, Talia wasn't given nearly enough screen time as herself and died within a few minutes - that and Bane's death was so...trivial. I complained over and over to anyone I could find and they agreed. The film in general had so many weaving storylines that it was hard to keep track of who knew what. In the end, I argued that Talia didn't make any sense. But she did. Watching it the second time around made me realize that her presence was far from secretive to the audience. I got to see the story unravel through her eyes as it was meant to be seen. Everything that was done was orchestrated by this woman I wrote off as unnecessary, but when you know her true agenda, suddenly Bane doesn't seem trivialized and she doesn't come off as a last minute character. The "boy" I saw in the pit was her, the scar on her back gave purpose, and her relationship with Bane was very evident from the beginning. The hatred for Talia stemmed from the complex structure of the story, but in reality, once all the complexities are understood, Talia stands as a clear villain - one who makes the utmost sense. So there we have it. I hope I've convinced you to watch The Dark Knight Rises a second time. If I haven't, just do it anyways, you'll understand why.
