The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons Why Nolan Leaving Batman Isn’t All Bad

4. A Better Bruce Wayne

We all have our favourite live action Bruce Wayne for a variations of reasons. Mine is Michael Keaton because he plays the outwardly €œthat guy could never be Batman€ public persona and the dark brooding, lonely Batcave dwelling Bruce Wayne so well. Even with that said, I don€™t think we€™ve had a live action Bruce Wayne do a whole lot of justice to the character. Nolan probably got closest due to the fact he hit Bruce Wayne€™s past with his training in prisons and with the Raj Al Ghul but I€™ve never really felt Christian Bale had Bruce Wayne all that right. He has glimmers of the carefree playboy and brooding worrier but he€™s so much more Batman than he is Bruce Wayne. A good example is the Superman movies. There€™s always a distinct Clark Kent and Superman thing going on, same with Spider-man. In Nolan€™s Batman movies, Batman is very much the priority, as arguably he should be but I really do feel the Bruce Wayne elements could be strengthened. I Like the relationship between Bale€™s Bruce and Alfred, same goes for the stuff with Lucious Fox but I don€™t really feel like we€™ve had a strong enough Bruce Wayne in Nolan€™s movies so far. Whoever takes on Batman next could very well bring us the distinctly different Batman and Bruce Wayne as well as the third persona brooding Bat-Bruce to the table a little bit more.
