The Dark Knight Rises: 9 Things Nolan Should Have Done

9. Included Some Detecting

Seriously, if you€™re going to say €˜Batman is no longer a detective€™, you might as well say €˜Oh yeah, Hulk can€™t smash€™. So Nolan changed the tone, I get that, fine, but in removing Batman€™s knack for detection almost completely from the property, he also removed one of Batman€™s most intriguing facets. If Nolan simply included a scene here or there in which Batman had to use his immense powers of deduction, I can envision a much more textured, true-to-source plot, that wouldn€™t have necessarily have been any less gritty and realistic as a result. And I€™d wager he would€™ve had probably around 50 €“ 60% more of the die-hard fans on-side than he has as a result.
