The Dark Knight Rises: 9 Things Nolan Should Have Done

8. Venom

For those of you who don€™t know, Venom is the steroid-like substance that Bane is addicted to in the comics, which makes him grow in size and strength, but which he must administer regularly or he suffers excruciating pain. In TDKR, this was removed and recast as Bane having an internal injury, which he must administer constant anaesthetic for, for the same reason. My real question is, if you€™re going to do Bane, why not do him properly? He didn€™t necessarily need to grow in size for the Venom to manifest itself, but it still makes more sense than having in internal injury that somehow doesn€™t eventually kill you. I just think it€™s an unnecessary and baffling change to make. I guess it just makes me shake my head at Nolan€™s priorities with his final Batman movie; Selina Kyle has been shoved in there despite being pretty much unnecessary to the story, but Venom has been removed, despite being pretty integral to the original character. Surely it would have been better the other way around?
