The Dark Knight Rises: Exceptional Nolan Trilogy Trailer

Watch the excellent trailer for the entire Nolan Batman trilogy here

Ahead of this Friday's release of Christopher Nolan's hotly anticipated trilogy ender, a clever Youtuber by the name of movieclipstrailers has cut together trailers for all three of the director's Bat films in celebration of both the work and the legacy of the trilogy. It makes for compelling viewing, especially if you're gearing up to see The Dark Knight Rises in the next couple of days... http://youtu.be/1T__uN5xmC0 Not only does this show the Youtube user's editing abilities - which are clearly impressive - it also explicates the continuous narrative arc of Nolan's Batman story throughout the three films in a very immediate film. The Dark Knight Rises is where everything comes to a head, where all of the character development and backstory furnishing explode in a crescendo - hopefully successfully - and we see the Dark Knight rise. That arc leads to the bewildering realisation that this film will outdo the Dark Knight - that Heath Ledger's exceptional portrayal of the Joker, and that everything Nolan did right in his second film was merely a step on a journey towards the climax of Rises. If that's not the most expectation-building realisation you've ever had, then it has to be close. So while we look ahead in anticipation, throwing hyperbole around like it's no-one's business, the opportunity to see a trailer so well executed that really channels those levels of expectation, and celebrates the cinematic experience of the final film is a great thing indeed. Which is why I've been watching it on a repeat cycle all morning.
