Rumoured since early summer but confirmed today by NJ.com, production on Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises moves to Newark, New Jersey next week for two days of filming on November 3rd and November 4th. One of those days will be taken up with filming at City Hall for which Warner Bros have paid $43,500 to use as well as the additional costs for the police and fire personnel who are required on site. It's said that no money from the taxpayer's expenses will be used for filming. Thanks to Batman on Film for the heads-up;
"There will be extensive traffic delays in the area around City Hall and Downtown Newark along McCarter Highway, Market Street, Raymond Boulevard, Broad Street, Mulberry Street, Halsey Street, Washington Street, and University Avenue, due to street closures and the re-routing of buses."
The Batman crew are currently in New York to film some of the last scenes to be shot for The Dark Knight Rises before filming is finally wrapped on what has been an epic long shoot. For those trying to avoid spoilers, you can probably expect a whole new bunch of on-set images to be leaked come the weekend as a whole bunch of outdoor filming is planned. The Dark Knight Rises opens in July and it's starting to feel close now.
