THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Full Length Trailer Confirmed For Friday

IMAX have finally confirmed via Twitter that the full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will be shown in cinema's from this Friday, 16th December. The trailer is timed at being 2 minutes and 3 seconds long, just 2 seconds shy of the length of The Dark Knight's now legendary first full length trailer. The trailer was rumoured last month to be attached to prints of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows that opens on Friday (and we believe that to still be the case as both are Warner Bros productions but this is not yet confirmed) but now IMAX claim via Twitter it will also be shown with digital IMAX showings of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The fourth entry in Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt action franchise opens exclusively in IMAX in the U.S. on Friday and as everyone knows by now the 70mm IMAX theatres will see the six minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises attached. Those, like me, who have to travel for hours to see MI:4 in 70mm IMAX and probably won't bother, can now expect to see the full-length trailer as a consolation prize when seeing MI:4 elsewhere. Unlike the prologue, the first full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is assured to be online, probably early after next weekend. Big, exciting week ahead for us Batman fans, eh? My advice is to enjoy it because Batman on film is unlikely to ever get this good again. We already know we won't have another Chris Nolan directed Batman movie to look forward to in the future, so this is the last time we will get a reveal like this for the franchise we've come to be somewhat obsessed with. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th, 2012.
