The Dark Knight Rises: Tom Hardy Compares Bane To The Joker

"He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He’s a very clean, clear villain.”

We've already seen brief glimpses of Tom Hardy's performance as Bane from the prologue, images and the trailers for The Dark Knight Rises but his take on the character is still something of a mystery. Sure we can put the pieces together from what we can expect from Hardy's performance but not until the release date on July 20th, 2012 will we know for sure. In an new interview given to Entertainment Weekly, Hardy reveals his take on Bane and how his villain differs from a certain Heath Ledger Academy Award winning portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime from 2008's The Dark Knight.
€œThe Joker didn€™t care," Hardy says "He just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy. There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane. There is a huge orchestration of organization to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He€™s a very clean, clear villain.€
The Dark Knight Rises is almost three months away from release and I imagine in May we will be greeted to the final big trailer for the movie. We are certainly due some more one-sheet posters with only two released to date. The Dark Knight had well over a dozen designs and we can expect Warner Bros to take marketing into the next gear soon. Opening July 20th, 2012, The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Christopher Nolan based on his script he developed with his brother, Jonathan Nolan. Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman star.
