The Dark Knight Trilogy: 10 Moments That Make No Damn Sense

1. The Bit Where Bruce Wayne Went To Hogwarts And Learnt How To Apparate

It's probably the most talked about plot-hole in the entire trilogy, but it deserves exploring once again.

The well-like prison that broken Bruce finds himself in is definitely far away from Gotham - the rudimentary architecture looks of a "foreign" culture, and the weather and dustiness implies a desert somewhere in the far east. It's certainly not handily close to Gotham, where it is snowing and the river is frozen. The extreme opposites chosen are meant to imply distance, it's not an accident.

But that extreme distance doesn't faze Batman, who manages to cross it in a matter of hours and get himself nicely cleaned up. Yes, I know he's a bazillionaire and has infinite resources, but he as far as we can tell, he's never invented a super-speed solution for crossing the world in seconds.

There is literally no explanation of how this happens - other than the infuriatingly smug "he's Batman" excuse that Nolan and the fans of the movie keep suggesting, one way or another. So, clearly there must have been a deleted scene in which Wayne temporarily enrolled at Hogwarts, perhaps on an exchange program (it would certainly explain how Neville Longbottom goes from sniveling dork to sword-wielding bad-ass) and learned the fundamentals of apparating, in case he ever needed to jump through some giant plot-holes in the future or something.
